During the eighth or ninth week of training, depending on which Recruit Depot they go to, recruits head into the field for "Basic Warrior Training". The face paint they wear looks similar to the M81 camouflage pattern worn in combat by all US military during the 1980s and 90s, so the 'BWT' Blossom is made from a retired M81 blouse to honor the history of combat training in the Marine Corps. The fabric I use will have varying levels of wear and seam lines. The compass rose center represents the crucial land navigation skills they must master this week while in the field.
The 'BWT' Blossom is the tenth stem in every Bootcamp and Moto Monday Bouquet.
